WebP
Next-gen image format by Google. Same visual quality as JPEG at 25-34% smaller file size. Supports transparency. Supported by all major browsers.
AVIF
Latest image format by AOM (Alliance for Open Media). 30-50% smaller than WebP with HDR and wide color gamut support. Supported in Chrome 121+ and Firefox 131+.
Core Web Vitals
Google's quality metrics for websites. LCP (Largest Contentful Paint) is directly improved by image optimization and directly affects search rankings.
Quality
Compression strength. 100% = no compression, lower values = smaller files but reduced quality. ~80% is recommended for web.
Q. Is my image data sent to a server?
A. No. All processing happens entirely in your browser. No image data is ever uploaded or stored on our servers.
Q. Should I choose WebP or AVIF?
A. WebP for maximum browser compatibility (~100% support); AVIF for maximum compression (Chrome & Firefox). WebP is the safest all-around choice.
Q. AVIF conversion isn't working
A. AVIF encoding depends on browser support. Use Chrome 121+ or Firefox 131+. Unsupported browsers automatically fall back to WebP.
Q. What about transparent PNG images?
A. Transparency is preserved in WebP, AVIF, and PNG. JPEG doesn't support transparency, so the background becomes white.
Q. Are there file limits?
A. No. Since no server is involved, there are no file count or size limits. For hundreds of files, process in batches of ~50.
Q. Is it free?
A. Yes. Completely free with no usage limits.
